Cherry Newsletter #015: Relay Chain Upgrade
Greetings Cherry community,
In recent weeks the project has achieved tremendous progress, culminating in the upgrade of the Cherry Mainnet to Layer Zero status. This means that the Cherry Chain and Ecosystem now constitute a protocol that can interface seamlessly with other Layer Zero protocols and upon which developers can launch their own decentralized applications and layer ones.
This is the most significant development for the project since the launch of the Cherry Mainnet itself several months ago. Read on to learn more about this exciting step forward and the other progress in the project’s ecosystem…
Core Updates:
Our Layer Zero upgrade is a big step forward for the project:
- After weeks of testing on the Cherry testnet, the upgrade was deployed this week on mainnet. Developers should take a look under the hood of our Github repo to find out more.
- Staking has been running successfully for months, and anyone staking who hasn’t done so yet should follow the updated instructions for staking on the Layer Zero mainnet.
- The Cherry devs are pushing forward with further significant milestones, with the release of EVM compatibility and IPFS integration to follow in the new year, further bolstering Cherry as a dynamic environment for Web3 development.
Ecosystem News:
Here are just some of the developments with projects building on the Cherry Chain:
- Seedling has launched a number of successful sales recently in spite of the adverse market conditions. In the coming days, Seedling will ramp up marketing content to communicate their vision for the new year. Stay tuned.
- Cherish is preparing for its imminent launch to the public, and you can get a sneak peek at how the platform will change the creative industry and what it will really do for creators.
Community Check-in
- The 4th Cherry Community Meetup took place last month at Lisbon Web Summit. The team also used the conference to share the Cherry vision and forge new partnerships. Keep an eye on our socials for details of further community events in the new year.
- Dressed to impress! By popular demand, the new edition of the Cherry Merch range is here. In the coming weeks, we will make our slick line of Cherry clothing and accessories available for the community, as well as running competitions to spread the sartorial love to our fans!
A 2023 full of promise…
This time 12 months ago, the Cherry team was preparing for the launch of the Cherry token. Since then, the project has achieved a standard of the progress we are truly proud of, culminating in a network upgrade this week that stakes Cherry’s claim as one of the most business-ready Web3 platforms in the industry. And we managed this in one of the most difficult years in the short history of the crypto space.
